Terms of Use
Last updated September 29, 2026.
1. Agreement to these terms
These terms govern your use of Rubricary — the prompt registry, the eval battery, the anonymous validator, and the runtime delivery API, CLI and MCP server that read from it. By using any part of the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Rubricary is a versioned registry of system prompts with an automatic eval battery and a runtime delivery API. It is under active development: some areas of the product are placeholders for surfaces that ship later, and the service may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time.
3. Accounts and sign-in
Sign-in is OAuth only, through Google or GitHub — Rubricary never asks for or stores a password. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account, and for keeping your OAuth provider secure. You must be able to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to create an account.
4. The anonymous validator and its limits
The validator scores a pasted prompt without requiring an account, as a way to try the product before signing up. It is a shared, metered resource, and the following limits apply and may change without notice:
- A pasted prompt may be up to 12,000 characters; longer submissions are refused, not truncated.
- An anonymous visitor gets 2 free validations before sign-in is required to continue.
- Each IP address is capped at 10 model-backed validations per day, whether signed in or not.
- A signed-in account is capped at 50 validations per day; the count resets at midnight UTC.
- A prompt that has already been scored may be answered from cache rather than by calling a model again, for up to 24 hours — a cache hit does not count against any of the limits above.
Rubricary may suspend, throttle, or end the free validator, or any individual visitor's or account's access to it, at its discretion — including to protect the service's operating budget.
5. AI-generated scores are not a guarantee
Every score, verdict, and suggestion the validator or the eval battery returns is produced by a third-party AI model (see the Privacy Policy for which ones) and is provided for guidance only. AI-generated output can be wrong, inconsistent between runs, or miss something a careful human reviewer would catch. A score is not a certification that a prompt is safe, correct, unbiased, or fit for any particular purpose, and it is not professional, legal, or compliance advice. You are responsible for reviewing a prompt yourself before relying on it in production.
6. Prompts you contribute
You keep ownership of any prompt you submit. When you publish a prompt as public, you grant Rubricary a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, version, index, display, and serve that prompt — including through the catalog, the API, the CLI, and the MCP server — under the open-source license you select for it (shown on the prompt's page). A prompt you mark private is visible only to you and, where applicable, your organization's members.
Only submit a prompt you have the right to share under the license you choose. Do not put secrets, API keys, credentials, or other people's personal data inside prompt content — prompts are code, not a place to store that kind of information, and public prompts are exactly that: public.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything illegal, or to generate content that is illegal where you are.
- Try to bypass, exhaust, or multiply the validator's quotas — including by rotating IP addresses or accounts to get around a limit above.
- Scrape or bulk-extract the catalog outside the documented API, CLI, and MCP server.
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts or organizations.
- Impersonate another person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
8. Organizations
An organization's owners and admins control its membership and can access the prompts, versions, and audit trail that belong to it. Creating or joining an organization does not change who owns the prompts you personally contribute, only who else can see or manage them.
9. Suspension and termination
Rubricary may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, abuse the service's shared resources, or create risk or legal exposure for Rubricary or other users. You may stop using the service, or ask for your account to be closed, at any time.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent the law allows, Rubricary is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from relying on an AI-generated score or on a prompt obtained through the service.
11. Changes to these terms
Rubricary may update these terms as the product changes. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected by a new "last updated" date above.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Rubricary operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
